Our customers are a passionate bunch. Right from driving sponsored cars around Brighton to supporting our 10-day transfer campaign, they’ve been willing to support us wherever possible. I mean, some are even talking retirement on Twitter…
Hey pals I'm using @pensionbee to gather up the tiny scraps of pensions I had from previous jobs and put them all in one pot and IT'S GREAT— Amy (@wolfwhistle) March 31, 2017
Now, this sort of enthusiasm is pretty remarkable - we’re a pension product, after all - so when we started exploring advertising at the end of last year, we decided to put our customers at the forefront.
Championing Britain’s savers
Look at your average pension ad and they’re pretty drab affairs. Take Scottish Widows’ mysterious cloaked lady, who seems to have been strolling around aimlessly for years:
So, rather than creating a cloaked lady of our own, we instead started chatting to customers - who knows us better than them after all? Plus, they’ve helped us build our product.
We picked up the phone, trawled through Trustpilot, and found an interesting mix of people - bloggers, young parents, entrepreneurs, techies - sometimes a mix of the lot!
The fab five
After some time spent channeling our inner Simon Cowell, we narrowed our selection down to a final five: Juan, Lucy, David, Lynn and Stu, a collection of savers we think really represent PensionBee. It’s a mixture of mums, dads, entrepreneurs and young professionals across a range of ages, all just ordinary people who love the fact they’re now in control of retirement.
I’ll stop blathering on though, and let them speak for themselves:
PensionBee, coming to a city near you?
The first billboards will be going up in Brighton this month, so keep an eye out for them if you live in the area. In the meantime you can find out more about Juan, Lucy, David, Lynn and Stu over on our YouTube channel.
We’ll keep you updated as the campaign progresses, and a big thank you to everyone who’s been involved so far!
