London, 03 July 2019: PensionBee CEO, Romi Savova, named ‘Best High Growth Woman Founder’ at the UKBAA Angel Investment Awards.
Yesterday PensionBee founder and CEO, Romi Savova, was named ‘Best High Growth Woman Founder’ at the annual UKBAA Angel Investment Awards. The awards celebrated the fastest growing brands and acknowledged the founders, angels, crowd funders and early-stage venture capital investors behind them.
Romi founded PensionBee in 2014, after struggling to move her own pension on traditional platforms when she changed jobs. She knew technology could be used to simplify pensions and make saving money easy for customers, while disrupting the status quo in an old-fashioned industry.
Under her leadership the online pension provider has transformed lengthy pension transfer processes to a five-minute sign-up via a smartphone, and helped thousands of people save for a better retirement. Customers of all ages and assets can manage their pension with ease, accessing their dashboard, or “BeeHive”, 24/7 via the mobile optimised app. PensionBee has successfully brought the customer experience into the 21st century, and has achieved constant month-on-month growth of 15-20% since launch as a result.
Romi Savova, CEO at PensionBee commented: “Starting PensionBee is my greatest work achievement, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to see how our product has changed the lives of people saving for retirement. I’m thrilled to be recognised by the UKBAA and would like to share this award with the team whose ability to make the right decisions, so we do right by our customers is something I marvel at everyday.
I’d also like to thank the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of London for their contribution to our early journey. They are a volunteer organisation whose primary mission is to add value to angels and entrepreneurs by connecting them together through networking pitch events and helping both groups to enhance their skills and knowledge through educational events and resources. Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of London provided not only early capital, but value add in terms of credibility, network and contacts, and advice.”
PensionBee has already had a strong start to the awards season, receiving a commendation in the ‘DC Innovation of the Year’ category at the UK Pensions Awards in May. It also collected the award for ‘Diversity and Inclusion Champion’ at the Computing Tech Marketing & Innovation Awards, and the awards for ‘Most Innovative Direct Consumer Proposition’ and ‘Open Innovation’ at the Investment Marketing and Innovation Awards last month. PensionBee CEO, Romi Savova, has been nominated in six categories at the Women in Pensions Awards, including ‘Pensions Woman of the Year’.
